About
A ready-to-teach Persian curriculum for five-year-olds, built for the way young children actually learn a language: by ear, through song and play, long before the pencil. Developed by the Chicago Persian School, a leader in Persian language education since 2007, it is the same curriculum we use in our own classrooms, now available online to schools, teachers, and families anywhere in the world. *NOTE: The companion "Student Workbook" is available for purchase on our website, a necessary package for this curriculum. What's inside: A 30-session lesson plan for a two-hour Persian language class, organized around themes from a child's daily life: family, food, clothing, the home, the neighborhood, seasons, transportation, jobs, and more. Each fully scripted session comes with matching pages in the companion Student Workbook. Every lesson includes keywords and target sentences in Persian, English, and easy transliteration; sound-awareness activities that train the ear; games, crafts, and movement; songs and stories; and simple home-practice pages that send the learning home to parents. Our approach: We devote this year entirely to listening, understanding, and speaking. Children learn Persian the same way they learned their first language: they hear it, they play with it, and they begin to speak, building a strong spoken foundation and a warm relationship with the language that carries them into reading in later years. Who it's for: Persian and heritage-language schools wanting a structured, classroom-tested program; teachers who want complete, ready-to-run plans; and homeschooling or heritage families raising Persian-speaking children outside Iran. Designed for children around age five. Companion packages for ages three, four, and six are also available.
